SOS Children’s Villages Ghana is a child welfare organization that provides a stable, Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also provide social services for families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects. Currently, we operate in four locations: Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi, and Tamale, with the National Office in Accra. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and dynamic persons for appointment as:
SPONSORSHIP OFFICER
Duty Post: Asiakwa in the Eastern Region
First Degree in English, Linguistics, Social Science, or Humanities, Communication & Journalism
b) Should have 2 years of relevant work experience in creative writing and managing donors and sponsors.
c) Have proven knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite, skills and experience in database management
d) Be a motivated self-starter with initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm
e) Be a proactive communicator with the ability to build relationships and provide support
f) Possess good organizational and time management skills
g) Possess excellent writing skills with a flair for the needs and development of children.
h) Possess strong cultural awareness, enabling effective collaboration with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
i) Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
j) Should be patient, friendly, firm, tactful, and well-organized
i) Ability to use initiative and work under pressure with very minimal supervision
Required qualifications and experience
Main duties and responsibilities, including key tasks:
• Ensure that the eligible children are registered with the International Sponsorship Office
• Ensure the smooth flow of correspondence
• Assist Sponsorship Coordinator in the preparation of mid and end-of-year reports
• Liaise with SOS mothers, Village Educators, and teachers to solicit information for the bi-annual progress report on each child to be sent to the sponsors.
• Ensure that detailed information on each child is kept/recorded on a database (DSapp) every time it occurs and inform the NSPC.
• Prepare for sponsors' visits at the location
• Capacity building of the co-workers in the Village by sharing new information and skills to improve the sponsorship work.
• Responsible for producing child digital diaries (photos and videos) on all sponsored children and village based on the SPO Lab: Digital Child and Village Diary Guideline and submits to the National Sponsorship Coordinator (NSC)
