SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES GHANA is a child welfare organization that provides a stable Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also provide social services for families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects. Internal Audit Officer
Duty Post: National Office (Asylum Down)
Purpose of the role
Support the Internal Auditor in overseeing the audit and compliance function within the Organization. The role involves reviewing policies, programmes, evaluating internal controls, risk management, financial procedures and making recommendations to rectify weaknesses in the systems and procedures reviewed.
Required qualification and experience
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Audit, Economics, or a related field
• Hold at least Level 2 of ICA or ACCA.
• A minimum of two (2) years post-qualification relevant work experience in Auditing.
• Experience in the NGO sector is an advantage
• Proficiency in accounting software, data analysis tools,
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong analytical decision–making and problem-solving skills
• Strong report writing and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, multitask, and manage multiple projects
• Knowledgeable in Child Rights and Child Safeguarding Practices
Responsibilities
• Support the internal audit function by assisting in the review and evaluation of internal controls, risk management, and financial procedures.
• Support with various audit processes, including conducting reviews of policies, procedures, operations, and programmes.
• Gather, analyse, and interpret financial and other data to support audit findings and prepare reports.
• Support the Internal Auditor to ensure that internal controls, policies, and procedures are followed and the Organization complies with relevant laws and regulations.
• Contribute to the identification and assessment of risks within the organization.
• Assist with the preparation and documentation of audit working papers.
• Assist with the coordination and communication between internal and external auditors.
• Prepare reports as needed for various audiences, including senior management and the audit committee.
• Carries out duties with a strong focus on preventing related Child Safeguarding/PSHEA risks.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Internal Auditor
