SOS Children’s Village Albania is a private nongovernmental and non-profit organization, which makes every attempt to offer a permanent home to the children who have lost their parents or for several reasons have no possibility to live with them. The SOS Children’s Village also strongly supports the children at risk of losing their families, and the families in need through implementation of different projects aiming at the further development of their capacities.
The SOS Children’s Village is starting a new project titled “Youth Can for Wellbeing and Employment”
The project aims to support self-reliance of young people from diverse vulnerable group by addressing the key challenges related primary to mental health services as support and preparation of young people with skills, information and opportunities to access jobs. The project targets vulnerable youth aged 15 to 29 from care services, family empowerment programs, and marginalized communities. The project will address these issues by focusing on: Empowering youth with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to manage their mental health and successfully navigate the labour market, having their emotional needs addressed. Building local capacity through training professionals, corporates and community leaders to provide mental health care and employability support. Creating a supportive environment that reduce stigma, increase awareness, and foster social inclusion. Duration of the Project: December 1, 2025 - November 30, 2029
In the framework of implementing “Youth Can for Wellbeing and Employment” Project, SOS Children’s Villages Albania is looking for a suitable person in the position of Finance Officer.
Location: SOS Children Villages, Tirana
The Finance Officer supports the project manager and the project team for fully and timely implementation of project activities as responsible for financial, procurement, logistical and technical administration in both locations of the project. Ensures implementation of accounting standards and regulations in accordance with albanian law and internal policies and in accordance with donor requirements. Ensures regular reporting to the project manager and financial manager of the organization on the progress of financial and administrative project activities.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate financial planning, monitoring, and reporting in compliance with SOS CV standards, donor requirements, and national legislation.
- Prepare and monitor liquidity status, project forecasts, and fund requests within SOS internal systems, report regularly to the Project Manager and Finance Manager.
- Track expenditures, ensure alignment with budget, and provide variance analysis with recommendations for corrective action.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Ensure the correctness and integrity of the accounting system, including use of accounting software, document management, and compliance with SOS CVI and donor requirements.
- Support procurement processes, service contract monitoring and preparing, and administrative tasks.
- Prepare timely and high-quality monthly, quarterly, annual, and final financial reports as required by SOS CV and donors.
- Ensure donor compliance, audit readiness, and support internal/external audits.
- Provide financial guidance to project staff and build capacity in financial accountability.
- Provides administrative support when preparing events and communicating with suppliers
- Prepares and records invoices, contracts, bank statements and other financial documentation and reports to the finance manager on a weekly basis;
- Monitor adherence of project staff to SOS CVI administrative and operational policies, as well as applicable donor regulations.
- Regularly review project financial details, deliverables, and schedules in line with the approved Implementation Plan.
Requirements for the position:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics;
- At least 5 years’ experience in financial management; preferably in donor-funded projects;
- Experience with donor compliance, audits, and procurement processes.
- Experience in preparing financial reports;
- Fluency in written and spoken English language.
- Strong analytical and computer skills (applications and databases), with an emphasis on budget and financial analysis;
- Experience in operations management.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under time pressure.
- Efficient task prioritization and time management.
- Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking.

- Has the responsibility to protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, manipulation, violence and discrimination.
- Has the responsibility to report any suspicions, concerns, allegations or incidents regarding the safety of children immediately without delay.

- Ensures responsible use and protection of organizational assets in line with the Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Guidelines and the Financial Regulations of SOS Children’s Villages.
