SOS Children’s Villages Ghana is a child welfare organization that provides stable, Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also offer social services to families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects. We currently operate in four locations: Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi, and Tamale, with our national office located in Accra. Position: Project Accountant
Duty Post: Asokre Mampong, with occasional travel to partner and project sites across six regions
Reports To: Project Coordinator (directly) & Financial Controller (functionally)
Supervises: Finance and Compliance Officer
Duration: 40 months (Contract renewable based on performance and availability of funds)
Role Overview
The Project Accountant plays a key leadership role in ensuring the financial integrity and accountability of the Spark Change-Makers Project. This position is responsible for the overall financial management, budget control, reporting, and compliance of the project, ensuring that every transaction meets EU donor requirements, SOS Children’s Villages (SOS CV) financial standards, and Ghana’s statutory laws. The Project Accountant works closely with the Project Coordinator, partners, and sub-grantees to ensure that resources are used efficiently, transparently, and for their intended purpose.
